The Choice
From Nicholas Sparks, the best-selling author of The Notebook and Safe Haven, comes this heart-lifting romance about how far we go to keep the hope of love alive.
Starring: Benjamin Walker, Teresa Palmer, Maggie Grace
Runtime: 1 hour, 51 minutes

This movie will be one of my proverbial comfort foods. Though it has been critically panned by a lot of critics, the ONLY critic whose review matters, is mine. I love this movie. You have to suspend your disbelief in some spots, particularly when it comes to the aging (or lack thereof) of the characters and *SPOILER ALERT* the medical improbability that anyone in a coma can look stunning or much less walk out of the hospital without muscle atrophy. Putting those hiccups aside, the movie had me in tears in a very good, cathartic way. I love it!

I found myself pulled into this sweet, yet cheesy, love story. I didn't anticipate that. Perhaps it was the setting of the waterfront 1940s cottages and moss-covered trees that evoked feelings of another time. Maybe it was because of the unexpected and deep love these two expressed for each other that I've always wanted, but never really felt I had. It is a story, yes, but it was beautiful in a strange way.
